The State Library of South Australia is pleased to be hosting an exhibition of South Australia’s rich football history from 3 June - 16 October 2022.
Working with the SANFL History Centre and major partner Meals on Wheels SA, the exhibition to be held in the Library’s Treasures Wall gallery will cover the South Australian National Football League’s (SANFL) history stretching back to its establishment in 1877. Among the memorabilia will be photos, scrapbooks, trophies, guernseys, blazers, footballs, as well as never-seen-before videos and digitised content from SANFL events, match footage and presentations.
SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said SANFL was delighted to forge a new partnership with Meals on Wheels SA – an iconic South Australian organisation which shared a common vision with SANFL to connect people and communities.
“This will be a great opportunity for South Australians to celebrate our game and the achievements past and present of the League.”
Geoff Strempel, Director State Library of South Australia, said
“Working with the SANFL History Centre and Meals on Wheels furthers our opportunities to connect the South Australian community to the stories of our state. The exhibition will be supported by a rich program of talks, events and activities for all ages. We look forward to welcoming a new audience to the Library.”
