A bequest is a truly beneficial way to support the State Library's journey for future generations.
There is a strong community tradition of donating material to the State Library. Most of the Library's letters, diaries, photographs, menus, wine labels, toys, and games were donated by people who wished to see their precious items preserved for future generations to use and enjoy.
Gifts and bequests are a way of giving back to the community. For gifts of significant cultural items, the Cultural Gifts Program offers donors a tax deduction for the market value of their gifts.
The State Library of South Australia can also be named as a beneficiary in a life insurance or superannuation policy.
You may choose to designate your bequest for general purpose and funds will be allocated to priorities at the time. We recommend you seek independent legal advice when making or updating your Will.
