The State Library of South Australia and craft gin producer, Storytellers Distillery are again partnering to welcome guests to Storytellers @ The Morlock, a pop up gin bar held in the iconic Mortlock Chamber throughout Illuminate Adelaide’s City Lights event.
Open nightly from 5.30 to 10.30pm, from 5-21 July, Storytellers @ The Mortlock invites guests to enjoy a curated selection of gins from Storytellers Distillery, with top shelf mixers, as well as delicious cocktails whilst taking in the stunning backdrop of the Mortlock Chamber.
A number of special ticketed events will again take place, as well as the introduction of a new exclusive experience, allowing guests to enjoy a gin tasting flight and cocktails from the Mortlock Chamber balcony, while overlooking the ambience of revellers enjoying the bar below.
The State Library of South Australia Director, Geoff Strempel is thrilled to again be partnering with Storytellers Distillery, to welcome guests to the Mortlock Chamber, following a popular 2023 season.
“Our historic Mortlock Chamber is a beautiful, unique space and it was wonderful to see so many people visit Storytellers @ The Mortlock last year, as they made their way along the Illuminate Adelaide City Lights. We are very pleased to be elevating the experience even further this year.”
Storytellers Distillery Head Distiller, Lachlan Gunner, is looking forward to returning for another instalment of Storytellers @ The Mortlock.

We will be giving guests an even more immersive and delicious experience with winter-warming food, an elevated cocktail experience, the popular return of our sold-out events from last year and exclusive access to the upstairs auror of the Mortlock Wing.”
Special ticketed events taking place include, TattleTales, an immersive and interactive tarot storytelling experience on Saturday 13 July, Please be Quiet! Silent Disco! on Friday 19 July and the Mortlock Exclusive Balcony Gin and Cocktail Tasting Experience held daily at 5pm, 6.40pm, 8.20pm and 10pm.
Storytellers @ The Mortlock 2024 pop up gin bar will be open nightly from 5.30 to 10.30pm, from 5-21 July.
