Everybody has a story to tell and at the State Library we love sharing the stories from the collections with you. We are very excited to release a new section on our website, simply titled ‘Stories’ but it has so much to tell and showcase digitally from the collections.
Read about or browse by subjects like architecture, biography, photography, hotels and pubs, literature and many more.
The Library’s collections include the stories of the state and selected community, business and individual archives that help us remember the past, connect with each other and discover who we are. Stories such as the book that was returned to the Library over 100 years after it had been borrowed or the tiger and the taxidermist in the basement of the Mortlock Wing. These stories and more are waiting for you to read in our Stories section.
