There’s a special buzz around Christmas at the Mortlock this year, with the arrival of the winning mini float on display in the State Library’s foyer.
Designed by Lia Mewett from Ardtornish Primary School, this gorgeous float, with a very special message, made its debut appearance in the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant on Saturday 2 November 2024.
“Lia's imaginative design, chosen from over 400 entries, depicts a whimsical beehive nestled among grass and flowers, surrounded by characters dressed in bee and honey pot costumes. ‘Bee Merry’ will bring a new layer of festivity to this year’s Pageant.” ~ National Pharmacies
It’s buzzed its way into this year’s Christmas at the Mortlock, where visitors to the State Library of South Australia can enjoy the wonderous design and soak in the meaningful environmental message: save our bees.
